2 C130 Hercules aircraft carrying the bodies back from MH17 scene

Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) provides two types of Hercules C130 aircraft to bring back the remains of victims of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH17 that crashed near the Russian border in Ukraine on Thursday.

Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zain said the plane was also used to bring additional members RMAF to Ukraine to assist the Special Search and Rescue Team Malaysia (Smart).

"The aircraft we are ready and will be used if needed to perform the job," he told reporters at an Iftar Chief of Defence Forces Joint Staff Force and the RMAF College in Kepala Batas today.

He said they will also add 30 more members of the Force to help rescue teams have left Ukraine before with 10 medical personnel.

He said the government also sent two members of the Corps Religion ATM to assist Malaysian Islamic Development Department in managing the body of the Muslim passengers.

At the ceremony Zulkifeli also presented Aidilfitri contributions to the RMAF personnel who have chronic illnesses and children of chronically ill Force.
